CakesCanada.com offers the following ad spaces to advertisers who can market to both professional cake decorators and retail level cake buyers.
Our cake decorating members would specifically be interested in products and services dealing with cake decorating supplies and techniques. Items such as classes and resources aimed at a Canadian decorators' market would be the primary focus although kitchenwares, packaging, business cards and such ancillary products are potentially also of interest.

Once we've confirmed there is an available opening in your desired ad space, we'll send you a PayPal invoice for your ad. If you would prefer to have an ongoing, self-renewing payment, please let us know and we'll set up a PayPal "subscription" for your selected ad type instead of a one-time, non-renewing ad request.
Ads are run on the basis of a "calendar month" cycle., i.e. from the 12th of one month to the 11th of the next month.
Your ad will stop running on the expiry date unless you have already ordered a further run. Payment for the next cycle of already running ads must be made at least 14 days prior to the expiry of your ad slot. Otherwise, it is assumed the slot is being released and is now available to purchase by anyone. Although this is the default process, we would still appreciate hearing about your intentions before that deadline.
If you selected to do a "subscription" payment through PayPal, you will be automatically re-billed at the right time. You can cancel the subscription at any time (through your PayPal account) and your existing cycle will simply finish when it gets to the end of it's current run.
Creation of appropriate Banner Ad Graphics is the sole responsibility of the Advertiser.
Advertiser is responsible for the content, services and/or products advertised.

Ads on CakesCanada.com are to be of interest specifically to cake decorators, whether home hobbyists or professionals. We will not accept ads that are of a "general" nature. We reserve the right to decline any ad we deem unfit. If an ad graphic, served from the advertiser's site, is switched to an unacceptable ad, the account will be suspended until the issue is resolved. The ad suspension does not extend the ad's run. A new banner graphic can be submitted and the run continued. Cancellation of an account or suspension of an inappropriate ad does not entitle you to a refund.
We reserve the right to cancel any advertising if we receive numerous or extreme complaints about that business or ad. We will investigate any complaints but the final decision as to whether or not we will cancel advertising is at our discretion. If an account is cancelled, it does not entitle you to a refund.
In order to keep ad costs low and attainable to small businesses, ad space on CakesCanada.com is shared, meaning that a limited number of other advertisers may also display their ads in the space selected. We do not restrict what other potential advertisers may promote (within our general guidelines) so it is possible that your ad for a brand of fondant may be in the same slot as another fondant company's ad.
For our purposes, advertising is termed as follows:
An Ad SPACE is the position of a particular size ad graphic, such as the Main Banner (centre top of all forum pages).
Within that ad space are ad SLOTS, which can be purchased for 1, 3 or 6 month runs, by up to SIX different advertisers. There is only ONE ad slot allowed per advertiser in any ad Space.
Rotation between two or more ads is done as "evenly" as the system is able to provide.
You agree to notify us in the event that you wish to have your advertisement removed from this site. Request to cancel an on-line ad will be processed within 5 working days. There is no refund on a 1-month run ad that has already begun running. CakesCanada.com will refund any pre-paid Ad for unused remaining full months only.
Example: You get a 3 month ad for $90 ($30 per month) but cancel after the first week. There are two unused months left so the refund will be $60.
All ads will be 100% refunded if cancelled at least five days before their effective start date.
CakesCanada.com reserves the right to modify these advertising prices and policies at any time.
AVAILABLE AD TYPES
The graphic size is 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels high and it is placed top and centre of all forum pages. This ad space is available in two versions: The Regular Main Banner Ad or the Showcase Sponsor Ad.
This is used for the typical banner ad graphic and links to a page of your choice. There are SIX slots available in this section. There is a limit of ONE banner ad slot per advertiser.
The rates for the Regular Main Banner Ad are:

CakesCanada.com holds semi-regular Showcase Challenges, typically two or three times a year, where members are given a particular goal and after a brief period to create a cake that meets the goal (usually two weeks) submit a photo of their cake creations which meet the challenge guidelines. These submissions are then anonymously posted in the Showcase area and members then vote for their favourite cakes.
Challenges may be drawn up by CakesCanada without sponsorship and are usually just a fun test of members' skills.
Challenges can also be sponsored by an advertiser or product vendor to help promote their product or services in exchange for prizes being awarded to participants whose challenge submission are selected as "best of", minimally in 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, although some sponsors have chosen to expand that to include even more winners. The topic or focus of sponsored challenges are usually - but not exclusively - related to the sponsor's product. Sponsored challenges are normally initiated and suggested by the sponsors themselves.
During sponsored and unsponsored Challenges, a Showcase banner ad is displayed in the Main Banner Ad location (top and centre) of all forum pages for approximately one month from the start of the challenge. This ad graphic is created by CakesCanada and focuses on the Challenge, mentioning the final prize and the sponsor's name. But the focus of the ad graphic is to promote the Challenge, not the product. This ad in effect becomes a "seventh" slot.
At the completion of the Challenge, the main Banner Challenge graphic is removed and a Standard Ad (150 X 250) Challenge graphic is displayed in the Top Right position for one more month. Depending on whether the Challenge is sponsored or not, the Sponsor and Product awarded to the finalists is again mentioned but not the primary focus. In total, there is a minimum of two months (challenge month plus extra month) "free" display ad space in the forum's PRIME spots.
In exchange for this ad space plus full-on promoting of the Challenge, prizes and sponsor in the Showcase Forum area, the sponsor supplies a product or service that is given away to the winner(s) of the challenge. Typically, there are three winners, One Grand Prize and two Runner Ups.
Retail value of Challenge sponsor's products or services should be a minimum of $50 PER PRIZE plus all shipping/delivery/duty fees to the Canadian address of the winner(s).

The graphic size is 150 wide by 250 high. It will be displayed in the top right corner of all Forum pages. This ad spot will be shared by up to SIX ads (if purchased) and evenly rotated, plus a Showcase Sponsor's ad if one has recently been run.
There is a limit of ONE banner ad per shop/advertiser only.

You can have us host the image, in which case the following apply:
One month run: no changes.
Three month run: one update.
Six month run: two updates.
Alternatively and highly recommended, you can have us fetch the ad's graphic directly from YOUR domain and this will allow you to change the image as often as you like.You can also request to have the ad's LINK point to a page on your domain where you could insert a redirect Meta tag to any specific page on your site. This way you're in complete control of what graphic is shown and where it sends visitors at all times.
