Just looking for some opinions. I have both the Wilton Floral Collection Gum Paste Flower Making and the Stepsaving Rose Bouquet Flower Cutter Set. The first has cutters and instructions to make roses with a teardrop shape for each petal. The 2nd has a 5 petal cutter to make the roses. Does one give better results or is it just personal preference. I have tried the 5 petal quick roses and was happy with the results. Is there any advantage to doing them the other way?

The only real aadvantage in doing it the 5 petals at a time way is the quickness to flower take shape. I have seen a few decorator use the 5 petals for the inner petals and then change to the individual petals for the outside petals. The individual petals are usually wired so they can be moved as needed. There really is no right or wrong way in making flowers it is how you are most comfortable and get the desired look.
